The knees are one of the parts of the body that we neglect the most in the beauty routine and, as a result of this, it is common for them to present dark spots and excess dryness. Since it is an area that lacks sebaceous glands, your skin is thicker compared to other parts of the body and, in addition, it is more susceptible to accumulation of dead cells and blemishes. So how can we remove stains on the knees?

Although stains on the knees are not a serious problem, over time it begins to be noticeable and, because it looks bad on an aesthetic level, it prevents you from wearing comfortably some clothes. Luckily, there are several homemade solutions that combine the lightening powers of some natural ingredients, helping to exfoliate the skin in this area to significantly reduce that annoying darkening.

1. Coconut oil and lemon juice

The fatty acids in coconut oil combine with vitamin C in lemon to give us a homemade cream with whitening and exfoliating power. These ingredients help remove the dead skin that accumulates on the knees and, by deeply moisturizing them, they leave them a smooth texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil (30 g).
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice (20 ml).

Preparation

  • Combine the coconut oil with the tablespoons of lemon juice.
  • Rub the cream on the knees and gently massage them so that it absorbs well.
  • Let it act for 40 minutes and rinse.
  • Use it only at night, 2 or 3 times a week.

2. Apple cider vinegar and plain yogurt

Apple cider vinegar contains organic acids and antioxidant compounds that help regulate the skin’s pH while removing dead cells and impurities. In this treatment we enhance its properties with the lactic acid of natural yogurt, obtaining a lightening product, ideal for minimizing stains.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (20 ml).
  • 3 tablespoons of natural yogurt (60 g).

Preparation

  • Add the apple cider vinegar to a bowl and mix it with the plain yogurt.
  • Spread the treatment on the knees and let it act for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse with cold water and repeat its application 3 times a week.

3. Turmeric and honey

A natural paste of turmeric powder and honey helps us nourish and hydrate the knees, promoting the elimination of dead skin and impurities. Its exfoliating compounds help reduce stains and, in addition, its antioxidants counteract the attacks caused by the sun.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of turmeric powder (20 g).
  • 3 tablespoons of honey (75 g).
  • 2 tablespoons of milk (20 ml).

    • Add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them until you get a creamy paste.
    • Rub the treatment on the knees and let it act for 20 minutes.
    • Rinse and repeat its use 2 times a week.

    4. Aloe vera, cucumber and lemon

    By combining these moisturizing and antioxidant ingredients we can obtain a whitening cream, ideal for improving the appearance of the skin on the knees. Its essential nutrients help reduce the dryness of the area and, if that were not enough, remove the impurities that generate spots.

    Ingredients

    • 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (45 g).
    • ½ cucumber.
    • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice (30 ml).

    Preparation

    • Add all the ingredients to the blender and blend them until you get a creamy and homogeneous product.
    • Spread the treatment on the knees and let it act for 30 minutes.
    • Repeat its use every night, until the skin is clear.

    5. Chickpea and lemon flour

    Chickpea flour

    A natural exfoliator of chickpea flour and lemon helps us to reduce stains on the knees and, incidentally, leaves the skin soft and hydrated.

    Ingredients

    • 2 tablespoons of chickpea flour (20 g).
    • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice (30 ml).

    Preparation

    • Moisten the chickpea flour with the lemon juice, until you get a paste.
    • Rub the product on the areas you want to treat, and let it act for 20 to 30 minutes.
    • Rinse with lukewarm water and repeat its use 3 times a week.
