Chicken Breast In Puff Pastry

This dish is very useful for a family dinner and is a tasty and original way to prepare chicken breasts that even the little ones will like. Learn how to make puff pastry chicken breast.

Option 1: Chicken breast stuffed with puff pastry

Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breast fillets per person
  • 1 slice of York ham per person
  • A slice of cured cheese per person
  • 1 slice of bacon per person
  • Puff pastry
  • 1 egg to paint
  • Salt and pepper

  • Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
  • First, season the chicken breast fillets to taste.
  • Place a steak on a wooden board. On it, place a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, a slice of bacon and another chicken fillet. Make as many (different) piles as there are diners.
  • Next, spread the puff pastry on a floured table, cut it into pieces that wrap each of the chicken stacks.
  • Put the fillets on top and wrap them with the dough. Seal the puff pastry well so that the filling does not come out.
  • Once all the puff pastry packages are made, brush them with beaten egg and place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 15 minutes at 200ºC or until the puff pastry is golden.

Option 2: Chicken breast and cheese puff pastry

Ingredients:

  • Puff pastry
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 2 medium onions (or a large one)
  • 2-3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Grated cheese
  • 1 egg to paint

Process:

  • First, cut the onion into fine julienne strips and put it to fry in a frying pan or saucepan with a drizzle of oil.
  • When the onion is transparent, add the sugar (better if it is brown, but if it is white, nothing happens).
  • Meanwhile, clean the breasts well, removing the fat and cut them into cubes.
  • When the onion is ready, put the dice in the pan or saucepan until they are slightly done. Just mark them, so that later they do not stay dry in the oven.
  • Preheat the oven from above and below to 180ºC.
  • Then, roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In the center, add the onion and chicken.
  • On top, put a layer of grated cheese (or cheese mixture). Abundant.
  • Close the puff pastry. You can be creative in this part so that it is decorated and beautiful when serving.
  • When it is well sealed so that the filling does not escape, brush it well with the beaten egg and add another layer of grated cheese on top.
  • Bake until the puff pastry is golden (about half an hour, depending on the oven).
  • You already have your chicken breast in puff pastry. Be careful that it burns!

Option 3: Breast stuffed in puff pastry

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken breast
  • 1 sheet of fresh puff pastry
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 2 slices of York ham
  • 2 slices of Havarti cheese
  • 1 onion
  • ½ can of pate
  • 250 ml of cream

Process:

  • First, preheat the oven to 200ºC.
  • Season the chicken breast and brown it in a frying pan with a drizzle of oil. Reserve.
  • On a previously clean and floured flat surface, roll out the puff pastry.
  • Then place the bacon slices, the York ham, the cheese and the breast on the dough. Wrap the ingredients with the puff pastry making sure it is well sealed.
  • Then paint it well with beaten egg and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 200ºC for about 15 minutes until the puff pastry is golden.
  • In the same oil as the breast, poach some very chopped onion.
  • When it is transparent, add the pate and undo it.
  • When it is well undone, add the cream and a pinch of salt. Beat with the mixer and serve with the puff pastry.
