7 Reasons To Drink Coffee

Coffee has gotten a bad rap for years, but its potential health benefits are reason enough to keep this drink in your life. Of course, as long as it is consumed in moderation. Here are seven reasons to drink coffee.

Coffee drinkers can live longer

That concludes numerous studies published in recent years. Among them, the one directed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Imperial College London. It took a population sample of more than 500,000 personnel, from more than 10 European countries.

The conclusions of this study showed that people who drank 3 cups of coffee a day were less likely to die than those who did not. In other words, longevity is related to the consumption of this ingredient.

However, the study was eminently observational, so these results have to be taken with caution. There is currently no proven scientific relationship between coffee consumption and increased life expectancy.

Those who consume this drink are less likely to develop diabetes

More than 15 published studies have linked coffee consumption to the prevention of type 2 diabetes. It was found that people who drink 6 or 7 cups of coffee a day were 35% less likely to have type 2 diabetes than those who drank less than two cups a day.

However, these results also need to be interpreted with caution, as most of them also indicate that drinking lots of cups of coffee can be harmful.

Coffee could fight cancer

Another reason for drinking coffee is that your consumers may be less susceptible to certain types of cancer. While there is no cause and effect relationship, coffee consumption has been linked to low rates of prostate cancer, laryngeal cancer, and breast cancer recurrence. As well as liver cirrhosis.

Coffee helps lower the risk of Parkinson’s disease

Not only does it help reduce the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, it can also help eliminate the likelihood of developing it. It seems that this is thanks to the caffeine. As early as 1968, studies showed an association between decreased Parkinson’s disease risk factors and coffee consumption.

Coffee can prevent the development of dementia and Alzheimer’s

We know that coffee sharpens our minds in the short term, but it was not known if it had a similar effect in the long term. Apparently it does. It can even prevent the development of dementia in coffee drinkers, which affects 36 million people worldwide.  The findings were published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease and discovered by a team from the University of South Florida (USA).

Coffee can counteract heart disease and stroke

Coffee has been linked to a lower risk of heart rhythm disorders. In a study published in the Mexican Diabetes Federation, it was found that consuming this ingredient can reduce the risk of stroke. The cause is the improvement in blood glucose levels, since the presence of high blood glucose values is a risk factor for cerebral infarction and cerebrovascular accidents (CVA).

Coffee is rich in antioxidants

Researchers know that coffee consumption leads to an increase in antioxidants in the body. When present in the bloodstream, antioxidants tend to strengthen the immune system and fight disease.

Antioxidants prevent tissue damage resulting from the action of free radicals. Antioxidants reduce their formation or are even capable of eliminating them once they originate.

Now that you know all the advantages of consuming this drink, there are only reasons to drink coffee. Although, in general, we usually consume it to “wake up” in the morning or when we are very tired , it is good to stop to enjoy its flavor from time to time. Don’t you think? It has a highly appreciated and unique flavor.
