Cabbage Soup With Meat

Cabbage is one of the least graceful edible vegetables of all vegetables (along with chard and spinach). What happens is that it has many properties and vitamins necessary for humans. It is also a different vegetable from those commonly eaten (see lettuce, green beans or even stew …). Specifically, cabbage has proteins, amino acids, essential fatty acids, Vitamin C, folic acid, niacin, nitrates and minerals such as bromine, aluminum, barium, calcium, fluorine, magnesium, phosphorus and sulfur. That’s why here we show you a simple and delicious recipe  for cabbage soup with meat.

Option 1: cabbage soup with ground beef

Ingredients:

  • 1 white cabbage
  • 1 kg. ground beef
  • Chicken soup
  • 1 large white onion
  • 1 tablespoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper

Process:

  • Julienne the onion and cabbage and sauté them in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Add the chicken broth.
  • Besides, mix the ground meat with thyme, salt and pepper and make balls with the mixture.
  • When the broth starts to boil, add the meat balls and leave it for 7 minutes.

Option 2: cabbage soup

Cabbage Soup

Ingredients:

  • 12 cups of water
  • 600 gr. beef ribs
  • 1 head of green cabbage
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup of tomato paste
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • 1/3 of cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of salt

Process:

  • Place the water and the beef short ribs in a large saucepan over medium heat, until boiling. When it boils, lower it to a simmer and continue on the heat for an hour, removing the foam that accumulates.
  • Once done, remove the ribs from the water and separate them from the bones. To do this, place the meat on a cutting board using a fork and knife, to separate the meat from the bone. Put the meat back in the saucepan.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients (chopped cabbage and onion, lemon juice, pepper, sugar and tomato).
  • Simmer the soup for another hour.
  • Season to taste.

Option 3: cabbage soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 6 onions
  • 2 green peppers
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 celery stick
  • 1 envelope of onion soup
  • 1 beef stock cube

Process:

  • Chop all the vegetables into small pieces and put them in a saucepan, covering it with water. Boil for 10 minutes over high heat with the saucepan covered.
  • After 10 minutes lower the heat, add the onion soup envelope and the stock cube and boil until all the vegetables are well cooked.
